The university anticipates that job action may escalate October 12. Please check here for updates throughout the day and follow @ubcnews on Twitter to see how this might impact faculty, staff and students.

The university remains open, with the continued provision of classes, labs and exams as well as other services. Faculty and staff who are not engaged in job action are expected to report for work.

CUPE 116 represents more than 2000 employees in trades, food services, student housing, parking, research labs and more. CUPE Local 2278, representing teaching assistants, is still bargaining with UBC.  CUPE 2950 and the University have reached a tentative deal.
