Limited job action continues, Museum of Anthropology closing at 5 p.m.

Limited job action continues Oct. 16 with withdrawal of landscaping, waste management, moving and recycling crews. An overtime ban for members remains in place.

The university remains open, with the continued provision of classes, labs and exams as well as other services. Faculty and staff who are not engaged in job action are expected to report for work.

CUPE 116 represents more than 2000 employees in trades, food services, student housing, parking, research labs and more. CUPE Local 2278, representing teaching assistants, is in mediation with UBC. CUPE 2950 and the University have reached a tentative deal.

Services Affected

The Lost and Found Office is closed for the remainder of the day. Items can be searched for online at security.ubc.ca

The Museum of Anthropology will close at 5 p.m. today. The scheduled 6 p.m. talk will take place in the MOA Café.
